The August Bellabox arrived at the end of the month as usual, packed full of beauty samples as well as a full-size mascara.

Like previous Bellaboxes, the August box was light on make-up and heavy on skin and haircare products. I was pleased to see a variety of different brands, with no repeats of well-known brands such as Palmer's, which they have favoured in previous boxes.

The August box contained:

Pilaten Collagen Lip Mask- single pack. Other than the brand name, none of the writing on the packaging was in English. Thankfully, the product card contained brief instructions on applying the mask. This is the most exciting product in the box- unlike many other Bellabox samples, it is not a product you would chance upon in the beauty aisle of the supermarket.

Max Factor Masterpiece Max High Volume and Definition Mascara- full-size, 7.2mL mascara. It is always a delight to receive make-up in a Bellabox, and this dramatic mascara does not disappoint.

Chapstick Night Repair Lip Treatment- a purse-sized sample of lip moisturiser. While a Chapstick is nothing to write home about, it is a useful product that will help battle the dry lips that inevitably follow the colder months.

OGX Healing and Vitamin E Shampoo and Conditioner- generously sized 88.7 mL sample of each. These were the most eye-catching samples when opening the box, and like the Chapstick, they are not particularly exciting but they are certainly practical. Full-size OGX shampoos and conditioners are expensive compared to other brands, so a large sample adds a lot of value to the Bellabox.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Ultra Comforting Face Cream- a 15 mL sample of daily face moisturiser. Nuxe is a pricey brand, so it is great to be able to try the face cream without having to fork out for a full-size product.

Dermal Therapy Heel Balm Platinum- 3 g heel balm sample. This was a 'bonus' product, though perhaps they should not have bothered. Bellabox is quite a youthful brand, and while young people can certainly have dry feet, it is not the sort of product you look forward to receiving. Heel balm, especially one that boasts containing 30% urea (a compound found in urine), is the type of product that I would surreptitiously purchase at a self-serve checkout.

Overall the August Bellabox was a delight to receive, with a good mixture of practical products alongside new and exciting brands.
